(At the time of his death he had a paralysis and could not talk--Heg 96) He married Elizabeth Monfoort (b. 25 August 1782) 3 January 1803, dau. of Pieter and Sarah (Luyster) Monfoort. She died 8 August 1862 and was bur. Brookville Cem.

Children: Catherine^6 Van Wicklin b. 13 May 1804 Cedar Swamp, NY and bap. 5 August 1804, W.H. RDC. She married James Voorhis, 11 October 1823. She died 25 December 1879. Anne^6 Van Wicklen was b. 1 November 1806 and bap. 1 January 1807, Wolver Hollow RDC. She married David Titus of Westbury, Queens on 2 January 1827. Peter^6 Van Wicklen was b. 24 January 1810 and bap. 11 March 1810 Wolver Hollow. He married Rosanna Titus, 10 January 1834. Appears that Peter and Anne married siblings (D. Titus and R. Titus). Peter died 14 November 1891. Daniel^6 Van Wicklen was b. 24 January 1815, and bap. 27 August 1815 Wolver Hollow. He married Hannah Cheshire, 23 November 1837. He died 21 August 1861. John^6 Van Wicklen was b. 20 May 1818, Cedar Swamp, Queens and bap. 2 August 1818, Wolver Hollow. He married Letitia Vernon 11 February 1852. He died (Roslyn, NY) 3 August 1853. Jacob^6 Van Wicklen was b. 15 May 1821, Cedar Swamp and bap. 15 July 1821, Wolver Hollow. He married Martha Muttee, 14 December 1845. He died 25 February 1899. Sarah^6 Van Wicklen was b. 3 March 1824 Cedar Swamp and bap. 4 July 1824 Wolver Hollow. She m. Percival Vernon, 14 December 1845 and she died 23 April 1849.

He is buried Brookville with brothers but not his wife. (L.I. Dem 523.54) Notice to creditors, estate of John VW of No. Hempstead, LI, ret. 11-22, Letitia VW res. OB, admx. Hegeman (p. 100) says he died of dysentery.

1850 US Census for Oyster Bay, Queens, NY lists Elizabeth Ann Van Wicklen, 68, widow, with son Peter Van Wicklen, 40 and his wife, Rosanna, 35 and their children, Elizabeth, 14, George, 12, Hannah, 8, Mary, 5, and Peter, 2. Elizabeth's husband, John, died one year prior to this census.

1860 US Census for Oyster Bay, Queens, NY lists Elizabeth Van Wicklen, 77, in household of William Hoogland, 32, Sarah J., 30, Emma, 6, Lucilla, 4, Elbert, 2 along with William Moore (70 or 40?), farm hand, and Sarah Golden, 13.
